A definite go-to, tried and true technique that I can't seem to get on a boat without is a shaky head. I've caught fish on it in wind, calm, rain, sunshine, overcast, snow, sleet, and hail in shallow and deep water. I'm really struggling to remember the last time I went fishing and didn't stick a few nice keeper fish on it.
When the shaky head busted onto the scene it was known for 4-7inch finesse worms. In the hands of innovative anglers, it's turned into an effective way to present everything from stickbaits to trick worms and creature baits. Twisting on a small creature bait like a baby brush hog has produce some very, very nice fish for me lately. Unfortunately, I didn't catch much over 4th of July weekend...just a couple small keepers and shorts from the dock.
